The Godrevy Lighthouse served as inspiration to Virginia Woolfe’s ‘To the Lighthouse’ Authors who have gained inspiration from the Cornish landscapes include Daphne de Maurier, Rosamund Pilcher, Winston Graham, D H Lawrence and E V Thompson; amongst others.
Cornwall and St. Ives have grown from tin mining; the once major industry whose decline exported Cousin Jacks and Cousin Jennies throughout the world, to the now major industry of tourism importing visitors from all around the world; all of who would like to take a part of this unique county home with them. The Atlantic, the sea that leaves us only to return bringing people backwards and forwards, holding in their minds the spirit of this special land.
